JR Cadawas

A resident of Old Irving Park, Eliodoro “JR” C. Cadawas (1950-2019) was born in the Philippines among a community of woodcarvers and is the recipient of over 250 international awards for his work and his craft. He made his sculpture with chainsaws and Swiss hand chisels from an oak tree that was no longer living. Using his own dogs as inspiration, the artist created a landscape that is reflective of the park and the joy that is found by those who enter.
