This tree sculpture in Hamburg commemorates the 30-year anniversary of the Chicago-Hamburg Sister City relationship. Members of the Sister City committee worked with CSI and cultural and parks representatives in Hamburg to jury the submitted proposals. The accepted design features a frangipani trunk that the artist brought from Asia that “hugs” the Hamburg oak tree.
The Sister City Committee is making efforts for this tree sculpture to be the first of many in Hamburg.
