A tree has died. It has lost all its leaves. With the project The Second Skin, it gets new leaves that cover and protect the old trunk. The new leaves are cut from woodplanks—this wood too, has once been part of a living tree. Together with the dead tree, they create something new, something that hasn’t been there before.
The Second Skin wants to give back some dignity to this big, dead tree. It is at the same time a memorial for the tree and a new and unique creation that illustrates the transformation from something dead to something alive.
